The 158mm aperture of this refractor allows you to start observing deep sky objects. Unparalleled contrast and sharpness combined with high light gathering capacity all come together in this elegantly designed refractor.
This 158 mm telescope with a fluorite glass lens has impressive colour correction, which can also inspire astrophotography. The new large 3.5" Crayford focuser is so solid that even with heavy accessories, such as large CCD astronomical cameras and filter wheels, no shifting is visible.
The 158mm free aperture and 1121mm focal length make this telescope a genuine top-class all-rounder. Whether used as a planetary telescope for the most detailed observing or as a high resolution telescope for use with a DSLR - the FLT 158 triplet with fluorite glass optics always cuts a fine figure. The retracted tube is 99cm long and weighs 15kg.

Compare: An excellent instrument with only 8mm less lens aperture, but which is cheaper, is the Omegon AP 150/1000 ED triplet carbon-fibre apo refractor OTA. You benefit from an extremely well-engineered optical and mechanical system of a very high quality. You can learn more here.
The William Optics FLT series represents a real alternative to the commonly used apochromats from Pentax, Takahashi, Starfire, TMB, etc. Although these instruments are manufactured in the Far East the workmanship is of the highest quality, as is the choice of materials.
The FLT series excels above all in astrophotography, and together with excellent correction, image quality, colour reproduction and field flatness it is held in high regard in all respects.
