i-Nova Technologies - Smart Imaging System (SIS)
The Smart Imaging System (SIS) is a modular solution based on the SIS-Box, a powerful computer running Linux Ubuntu OS and an exchangable camera sensor module for imaging. The whole system can be attached to a telescop like any other astronomy camera. In addition to controlling the camera and handling the image acquisition, the SIS-Box computer can control any INDI-compatible device from filter wheels to automated domes, telescope mounts, electric focusers, etc... This enables advanced astrophotography within an integreated system: A power hungry external computer to control everything isn't necessary anymore!
There are 2 ways to use the SIS. In direkt mode the system is connected through an HDMI port with a monitor or TV and controlled with a wireless mini-keyboard. In remote access mode, you install the VNC Viewer software on any client device (desktop PC, laptop, mobile device) and connect it to the SIS via Internet or local network. The VNC Viewer software is compliant with Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android and more.
The current software package on the SIS includes:
- Planisphere: Sky Charts for locating sky objects and controlling mount
- PhD2 Guiding for autoguiding,
- SISCapture for imaging and visual enhancement, real-time processing & stacking
- Over time the number of applications will increase as the software updates automatically

The SIS architecture has been designed in such a way that the hardware upgrade becomes easy: the imaging sensor module is interchangeable and can be replaced by more powerful models as sensor technology improves rapidly.
